Confirmation is designed around the belief that adults are incredibly important to the faith development of our young people and that adults don’t need to be “faith professionals” in order to make a big and positive difference in the lives of our students. Confirmation is a time with students and adults learn and grow together.
We structure our program to make it engaging for young people and their different personalities and learning style. We start as a large group for prayer, offering (for malaria prevention), announcements, and teaching. During our teaching we use various teaching tools and media to help communicate and illustrate the lessons of the night. After the large group teaching, students move from the sanctuary to small groups, composed of 2 adults and 6-8 youth people, to further process, discuss, and investigate the lesson.
A highlight for the congregation is hearing 8th graders share their faith statements during worship services in the summer. We grow together as a family by being touched and learning about our own faith through walking with these students.
Parents need to attend this first session with their children.

Confirmation is the cornerstone of our Middle School program at Calvary. We also are excited to see middle school students become the hands and feet of Christ when they take advantage of the opportunity to become youth missionaries. Those not going on a mission trip can serve others locally. Ask a middle schooler about how recently served others in our community by visiting nursing homes!
CLUB is a time for 9-12th graders to come on Wed. nights to experience faith, friends, and fun in new and exciting ways! Grab someone and get here! Everyone is invited.
CLUB continues in the summer! We will be meeting at different homes and locations throughout the summer to fellowship, have fun, and grow in faith. Watch the church calendar, Calvary Youth FaceBook page, and your texts about dates and locations. If you would like to receive text messages about upcoming Senior High events or if you would like to host a summer Wednesday night event, please contact Pastor Nate.

Each year, Calvary Lutheran Church offers opportunities for God’s children to serve Him through mission trip opportunities. The growth experienced through these opportunities is seen on the faces and in the stories of all who have gone. While serving others, Christ works in the hearts of each missionary. The summer of 2016, our middle schoolers will travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin (June 12-16) and our high school missionaries and leaders will travel Benton Harbor, Michigan (July 17-22).
FAMILY / YOUNG ADULT
February 27 – March 4, 2016, Young adults, families, and individuals 15 years of age and older are invited to participate in a Family/Young Adult mission trip to Jamaica with Praying Pelican Missions. An informational meeting will be held September 23 at 6:00 PM in the Lounge.
If you are interested in any of the upcoming mission trips, please contact Pastor Nate.
There are also opportunities throughout the year to financially support our missionaries. Thank you to all who serve and all who support them!
