Calvary is a vibrant, intergenerational Christian church, gathering for worship, connecting with Christ, and serving our neighbor! We’re a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and we’ve been claimed by God’s gospel gift in Jesus: we are saved by grace through faith! You can join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m., and on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 p.m.
We’re deeply invested in our youth and families through our weekday preschool and mid-week confirmation and youth group programs. We have a strong commitment to serving our neighbors in Jesus’ name – we do this through annual summer mission trips and ongoing local partnerships with the homeless shelter, the food shelf, and many others.
“Be Thou My Vision ~ Having Clear Vision through Christ”
This year we will strive to see the world through God’s lens – practice seeing one another as Christ sees us, helping unite us as God’s church. We will experience this theme through some property improvements at Calvary, three mission trips, a new church directory, deepening partnerships in our community, and taking a look at our practices of stewardship. We are sure God will surprise us with even more opportunities than we can plan for to keep our vision focused on what God is up to in our lives, in our families, and in our church. As we celebrate being the diverse body of Christ, we strive for unity in God’s kingdom here and everywhere.
“Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; naught be all else to me, save that thou are; thou my best thought both by day and by night. Waking or sleeping, thy presence, my light!”
For more than 100 years, we’ve been rooted in Bemidji, and we’re excited to see where God will take us as we live into our vision statement: God calls us to live faithfully, follow Jesus boldly, and serve others joyfully.
